Freshman running back Steven Gilliam (Bowie, MD/Bowie HS) was selected to the 2013 All-CIAA Football Rookie team on Thursday, November 14, announced by the conference office. He played in nine games but was inserted into the starting lineup during the final five games for the Lions. He finished with 86 carries for 282 rushing yards and one touchdown. Gilliam recorded a 73-yard rush against Sacred Heart (9/14) in his first collegiate game. He scored his lone touchdown of the season against Bowie State (11/2) and had three receptions for 17 yards in 2013.
