Lincoln University, PA -September 12, 2024 - Lincoln University is thrilled to announce a series of special events during this year's Homecoming celebration, honoring two of its most esteemed figures, Dr. Frank "Tick" Coleman and Coach Cyrus Jones. The festivities will include a naming ceremony and tribute events that highlight their significant contributions to the university and the broader community during homecoming Oct. 11-12, 2024. 
The football field will be named after Dr. Frank "Tick" Coleman who was not only instrumental in bringing back football to Lincoln in 2008, but was a star athlete and captain of the football team during his time 1921-1935 seasons.  The track will be named in honor of Coach Cyrus Jones, a legendary track coach and former athletic director from 1974-2010 who led Lincoln to 15 NCAA Division III track and field championships and coached over 300 NCAA All Americans.

Honoring the Legends Tribute Reception
On Friday, October 11, 2024, at 6:00 PM, the Wellness Center Dining Hall will host the "Honoring the Legends Tribute Reception." This event will celebrate the legacies of Dr. Frank "Tick" Coleman and Coach Cyrus Jones, recognizing their dedication and impact on Lincoln University. Alumni, students, faculty, and community members are invited to join this special evening of remembrance and celebration.  Tickets are only $25.00 and are pre-sale only.

Naming Ceremony
The highlight of the weekend will be the official naming ceremony for Dr. Frank "Tick" Coleman and Coach Cyrus Jones. This ceremony will take place during halftime of the Lincoln University vs. Bluefield State University football game on Saturday, October 12, 2024. The dedication will be a momentous occasion, marking the enduring legacy of these two remarkable individuals.
