The Lincoln University's SAAC Celebrates Athlete Week

This year was the first year that The Lincoln University's Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) held their very own events on the week of March 22nd to 28th of 2015.

Monday, SAAC held its very first Bone Marrow Drive for Project Life and was able to get almost 150 students to join the movement. That night we had our first forum called "Life Behind The Ball" that was open mostly to non-student athletes to ask athletes questions and learn about the day-to-day struggles of being a college athlete.

Tuesday, the athletes put on a game night in the Student Union Building with games, snacks and coupons!

Wednesday, SAAC held an event that mimicked fear factor, the reality TV show. Seven participants signed up to challenge their taste buds to the ultimate challenge! They ate raw egg and chocolate pudding, dead crickets, live worms and bobbed for fish! Absoultely disgusting!

Thursday, SAAC put on it's first "Athlete Auction" and was able to raise nearly $400 in only one night! The Wellness Center Auditorium was packed with eager students to win a date with an athlete for an hour!

Friday and Saturday, just the SAAC members held private events with the local Girl Scout Troupe and helped them earn badges!

All of our events fundraised money towards Make-A-Wish Foundation and any students who brought a can good got into our events for free! Look for more events in the near future put on by The Lincoln University Student Athlete Advisory Committee. This week was truly a blast for all the athletes that participated and we are eager to keep growing as an organization!
