Third Annual Academic Luncheon set for Wednesday afternoon

LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, PA (November 3, 2008) -- The Lincoln University of Pennsylvania athletics department will hold its Third annual Academic Recognition Luncheon on Wednesday November 5, 2008 in the Multi-Purpose Room of the Student Union Building beginning at Noon.

 

The academic luncheon honors student-athletes who completed the semester with cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher. There will be 60 students honored from 11 sports.

 

The students honored will be Percy Bullock (Pittsburgh, PA/Susquehanna Twp.), Omar Glinton (Nassau, Bahamas/St. Augustine's), Joe Kruemmer (Middletown, DE/Hodgson Vo-Tech) and Melvin Robinson (Wilmington, DE/William Penn) from the baseball team. Women's basketball honorees are Sasha Evans (Hampton, VA/Phoebus), Chanelle Harris (Yeadon, PA/Penn Wood), Keonie Morrisey (Washington, D.C./Frederick Douglas) and Dejuana Mosley. Alicia Beach, Shakia Blake, Tracey Coleman (Cranford, NJ/Cranford), Andrea Dennis (Monrovia, Liberia/Riverdale Baptist), Shayla Dowdy (Aliquippa, PA/Aliquippa), Angel Ferris (Philadelphia, PA/Germantown), Brittany Harry (Paterson, NJ/Howard), Crislove Igeleke (Las Vegas, NV/Canyon Springs), Toussaint Jordan (New York, NY/Aquinas), Amber Newton, Alysha Poles (Rochester, NY/Ruth-Henrietta) and Donielle Turner (Philadelphia, PA/Creative Arts and Performing Arts) from the cheerleading squad.

 

From the women's track and field team Kristina Rembert (Bronx, NY/Cathedral), Christiana Sansculotte and Nicole Young (Brooklyn, NY/Meade Senior High). Men's track and field honorees include Davon Goldburough, Jamir Kirby (New Castle, DE/Delcastle), Todd Mason (San Diego, CA/Edgewood High) Jr., Andre Wilkinson (St. Michael's, Barbados/William Grady (NY)) and Len'l Russell (Clairton, PA/Clairton). From the football team Myles Fleming (Carlisle, PA/Carlisle), Dejurne McCall-Prince, Ronald Love, Gerald Foster and Justin James (Philadelphia, PA/Roxborough). Men's soccer honorees include Oluwaseye Adekanye, Kirk Bishop (Georgetown, Guyana/Richard Ishmeal), Marc-Eric Kouadio, Joseph Forde (Siparia, Trinidad & Tobagho/Bensalem), Theon Francis (Arima, Trinidad & Tobago/Queens Royal College), Jerrell Hooker (Cunupia, Trinidad & Tobago/Presentation College), Kareem Morancie-Leid (Couva, Trinidad & Tobago/St. James Secondary), Stephen Sangster (Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago/Kennett (PA)), Andre Wilkinson (St. Michael's, Barbados/William Grady (NY)) and Yannick Goue. Women's soccer honorees include Adaeze Chikwem (Oxford, PA/Oxford Area), Collene Cumberbatch (Piscataway, NJ/Piscataway), Leslie Jefferson (Havre De Grace, MD/), Joy Floyd (Logan Twp., NJ/Kingsway Regional) and Natalya Konstantinova.

 

The softball team will honor Alisa Davis (Gloucester, NJ/Gloucester County Tech), Sasha Evans (Hampton, VA/Phoebus), Stephanie Gibson, Sherrell Harwell, Chanelle Harris (Yeadon, PA/Penn Wood), and Dejuana Mosley. The tennis team will honor Sherrell Harwell, Osho Adedotun, Anthony Fluellen (Sharon Hill, PA/Academy Park), Alfayo Michira (Nyamira, Kenya/Nyansabakwa) and Stephen Sangster (Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago/Kennett (PA)). Lindsey Wilson (Aliquippa, PA/Aliquippa) will also be honored form the volleyball team.
