WILMINGTON, DE. (October 4, 2008) – The Lincoln University men's cross-country team finished seventh in the Goldey-Beacom College Fall Classic on Saturday at Carousel Park. (RESULTS)
Leading the way for Lincoln was sophomore English major Vincent Thomas (Colmbia, PA/Columbia ) (Columbia, PA/Columbia), who came in 18th place out of almost 100 runners in a time of 30 minutes, 17.5 seconds.
The Lions finished ahead of five other schools. Gwynedd Mercy beat out Philadelphia by one point 42-43 to win the Fall Classic.
One other Lion runner finished in the top 25 as junior Todd Mason (San Diego, CA/Edgewood High) (San Diego, CA/Edgewood High) came in with a time of 30 minutes, 54.6 seconds.
Freshman business major William Andrew (Danbury, CT/Danbury ) (Danbury, CT/Danbury) and sophomore mathematics major Diedre Mcloud (Fort Lauderdale, FL/South Plantation) rounded out the top 50 coming in 42nd and 45th place respectively with times of 32 minutes, 32.8 seconds and 32 minutes, 46 seconds.
Other Lincoln finishers were Jonathan Hill (60th, 34:11.2, Len'l Russell (Clairton, PA/Clairton) (62nd, 34:25.9), Muraydiyn King (35:13.6), and Alex Wright (Brooklyn, NY/John Dewey) (38:34.0)
