CHEYNEY, PA (October 18, 2008) – The Lincoln University women's cross-country team came in second place at the Larry Simmons 5K Invitational on Saturday afternoon at Cheyney University of Pennsylvania.
Out of 27 runners, the Lady Lions had three members in the top 10 spots all coming in less than 27 minutes. Junior Alisha McKeithan (Philadelphia, PA/Strath Haven) (Philadelphia, PA/Strath Haven) led the way for Lincoln as she turned in a time of 25 minutes, 8.8 seconds good for a fifth place finish.
Rounding out the top 10 slots in the invitational for Lincoln was sophomore Ivri Daniels (Philadelphia, PA/Prep Charter) (Philadelphia, PA/Prep Charter) coming in 9th in a time of 25 minutes, 31.7 seconds and in 10th place sophomore Kristina Rembert (Bronx, NY/Cathedral) finished with a time of 26 minutes, 4.92 seconds. Sophomore Aisha Crowley (Brooklyn, NY/Bishop Loughlin) (Brooklyn, NY/Bishop Loughlin) finished just out of the top 10 coming in 11th place right behind her classmates in a time of 26 minutes, 7.37 seconds.
Junior Corey Stewart (/) (Philadelphia, PA/Girls High) finished with a time just over 38 minutes in 25th place.
Lincoln University finished in second place behind Holy Family University with a score of 44. They finished thirty points higher than Cheyney University of Pennsylvania who had a score of 74. Rounding out the four-team invitational was Goldey-Beacom with a score of 81 points.
