It was Goucher's second victory over Lincoln this season. The Gophers beat Lincoln, 3-0, at Rivero Hall on September 18. Lincoln put up a fight before falling, 19-30, 16-30, 18-30 before a sparse crowd.
Junior Donneisha Smith (Milwaukee, WI/Harold S. Vincent), who registered 10 kills, paced the Lions (4-16). It was Smith's fifth match this season with 10 or more kills and her fourth in her last seven outings. Smith leads the Lions in kills and has flourished this season under first year coach Schannon Gamble.
Freshman Lia Hubbard (Farrell, PA/Farrell) continued to sparkle by collecting 10 assists. Junior Lindsey Wilson (Aliquippa, PA/Aliquippa) was all over the floor in finishing with 10 digs. Junior Hordean Matthews turned in another solid all-around performance by finishing with eight digs and four blocks.
Lincoln returns to action Thursday evening when it hosts Washington Bible College at 7:00 p.m. It will be the second meeting of the year between the Lions and Washington Bible. Lincoln won 3-0 at Washington Bible on September 29.
