McKenzie Spencer (Richmond, Va./Henrico HS) has been named the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Corvias Women's Outdoor Track and Field Rookie of the Week for their performance during the week ending April 16, 2017.
This week's award marks the third time this season that spencer has earned ECAC Outdoor Track and Field Rookie of the Week honors, having earned the honor on March 22 and March 29. Lincoln women's track and field athletes have now earned ECAC Outdoor Track and Field Rookie of the Week honors in four of the five weeks it has been given out during the outdoor season.
Spencer recorded a personal best leap of 10.49 meters (34' 5") in Saturday's triple jump competition at the Towson Invitational, placing 14
th overall in a field of several Division I competitors. Spencer's jump ranks her eighth on the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association's (CIAA) performance list heading into this weekend's conference championship meet at Bowie State University in Bowie, Maryland.
Lincoln women's track and field athletes have now earned a total of eight ECAC Women's Track and Field weekly honors (Track Athlete, Field Athlete, Rookie) during the 2017 outdoor season.
