Charlotte, N.C. - On Saturday afternoon, Lincoln University junior
Teira Pendleton (Baltimore, Md./Baltimore Polytech) and senior
Monique Cheek (Teaneck, NJ/Harford Community College) were named to the 2017 CIAA Women's Basketball All-Tournament Team following the conclusion of the conference championship game at the Spectrum Center.
Pendleton earned the honor after averaging 14.3 points and 5.3 rebounds per game in the Lions three contests.    She scored 16 points in Lincoln's 59-51 loss to Virginia State University in the tournament semi-finals on Friday and had 20 points and eight rebounds in the Lions come-from-behind 74-71 win over top-seed Chowan University on Wednesday. Pendleton opened the tournament with a seven-point six rebound effort against #4 seed Shaw University on Tuesday.
Over the course of three games, Pendleton shot .455 from the field (15-33) and connected on her first three point field goal of the season in the conference semi-final game. She also recorded six assists and four steals in the three games.
Cheek saved her best game of the tournament for last, scoring 12 points and grabbing four rebounds in 26 minutes of action in Lincoln's semi-final loss. She shot 50% from the field for the game and was a perfect 4-4 from the free throw line.   For the tournament, Cheek shot 50% (6-12) from the field and averaged 3.3 rebounds per game.
