One top five finish and three personal best performances were highlights of Lincoln University's men's indoor track and field team's night as they competed at the Towson Tiger Invitational on Saturday at the Armory in New York City.
Lincoln's top five finish came in the high jump as
Rhashawn Jenkins-Powell (Neptune, N.J/Neptune HS) cleared a personal-best height of 2.01 meters (6'7") to place fourth in the competition that included athletes from several Division I schools including Princeton, Manhattan, Howard, Coppin State and NJIT amongst others. His jump was the best jump amongst non-Division I competitors in the event and is currently the top mark amongst Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association high jumpers so far this season.

The Lions remaining two personal-best efforts also came in the field events as
Frederick Sinclair (West Chester, Pa./West Chester-Rustin HS) and
Anthony Ukaha (Philadelphia, Pa./West Catholic HS) recorded their top marks in the long jump and shot put respectively. Sinclair on his second attempt, jumped 5.77 meters (18' 11.25") and finished the competition in 19
th place. Ukaha set his personal-best mark on his first throw in the shot put at 11.25 meters (36' 11"). His toss was good enough for 14
th place.

Fellow shot putter
Solomon Potter (Lindenwood N.J./Timber Creek HS) finished 11
th overall with a toss of 13.05 meters (42' 9.75"). Like Ukaha, his best toss came on his first throw.

In the sprints, Mike Brown finished 11
th overall in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.07 seconds in his preliminary heat and placed 13
th in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.87 seconds.Â
Adam Valson (Los Angeles, Calif./Crenshaw HS) recorded a top-20 finish in the 500-meter run event, placing 17
th with a time of 1:11.06.
The Lions recorded top 20 finishes in four other events over the course of the meet. The 4 x 400 relay team of
Marcus Kinard (York, PA/West York HS),
Anthony Watkins (New Castle, Del/Neumann University), Valson and Brown placed 13
th with a time of 3:37.03 while
Terrell Wallace (Upper Darby, Pa./Upper Darby HS) was 14
th in the 1,000-meter run with a time of 3:06.60.Â
O'Daiyah Harper (Suitland, Md./Largo HS) and
Nathan Heaven (Manchester, Jamaica/Munro College HS) placed 19
th and 20
th respectively in the 800-meter run with times of 2:16.20 and 2:16.40.Â
Daniel Williams (Coatesville, Pa./Coatesville HS) rounded out the Lions top 20 finishers with a 20
th place finish in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.93 seconds.

Lincoln returns to action on January 21, 2017 at the Collegeville Classic hosted by Ursinus College.
