Football players Jonathan Rijo (Queens, NY/Bethany College)s and Jaleel Reddick (Newark, NJ/Morgan State University) have taken one more step towards their dream of playing professional football. Rijos has just signed with Sydney Express of the National Gridiron League of Australia. When the season starts Rijos will be the first football player from Lincoln to play for an international professional league. His teammate and fellow history making Lion Jaleel Reddick (Newark, NJ/Morgan State University) is the first Lincoln Lion to be invited to the training camp of a National Football League (NFL) team. Undrafted, Reddick was invited to the camp of the New York Giants and will be given the chance to compete for a place on the final 53 man roster.
These student athletes are making strides and showing their peers and future Lions that it is possible to be successful in the classroom and the playing field. Both will be marching across the stage and receiving their diplomas this week. Congratulations and well done to both of these history making Lions.
