Greene Named Corvias Division II Women's Soccer Player of the Week by ECAC

DANBURY, Conn. – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) has selected Lincoln University senior Tamara Greene (Piscataway, N.J./Piscataway) as the Corvias Women's Soccer Division-II Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 30.
 
Greene becomes the just the second women's soccer player in program history to earn ECAC player of the Week honors, joining Tara O'Brien who earned the award twice during the 2012 season.
 
In the final two games of the 2016 season and her career, Greene recorded five goals and two assists last week leading the Lions to a 1-0-1 record. Against Trinity College, Greene notched her first career hat-trick and added one assist in LU's 4-0 win. She is just the fifth player in program history to record a hat-trick and the third to record a natural hat-trick (first since O'Brien in  2012). Tamara followed with a two goal-one assist effort against Christendom College.  She scored her first goal three minutes into the game and added the then go-ahead goal in the 82nd minute. For the week, Greene finished with 12 points

The former Piscataway High School athlete led the Lions in goals (10), assists (7) and points (27) in 2016.   She is just the fifth player in program history to score ten goals in a season and the first since 2013.  She concludes her career ranked fifth on the Lions all-time list for goals (17) and points (42).

A accounting major, Greene is on target to graduate from Lincoln in May 2017.
