MADISON, NJ (October 4, 2008) – Freshman Stephanie Anderson (Coatesville, PA/Coatesville) and sophomore Shaynita Blanchard (Portmore, Jamaica/Archbishop Carroll) each registered hat-tricks during the Lincoln University of Pennsylvania’s 7-2 women’s soccer victory over the College of St. Elizabeth’s Saturday afternoon.

Senior Tia Redden (New Castle, DE/St. Elizabeth’s) also scored to help Lincoln (4-7-1) tie a school record for victories in a single season and defeat the College of St. Elziabeth’s for the first time in school history. Also, the Lincoln women’s soccer team established a school record for goals in a single season with 28. The previous mark was 25 set last year.

Anderson, who was featured in this week’s Sports Illustrated, leads Lincoln with 14 goals. It was Anderson’s third hat-trick of the season. Blanchard notched her first hat-trick of the season. She has scored seven goals this season.

Lincoln senior goalie Tanina Cook earned the victory.
