Blanchard and Johnson help Lincoln tie up Trinity, 1-1
WASHINGTON, D.C. (October 14, 2008) – The Lincoln University of Pennsylvania women’s soccer team battled to a 1-1 draw at Trinity (D.C.) University Tuesday evening. Sophomore Shaynita Blanchard scored the Lady Lions. Freshman keeper Brittany Johnson was terrific in goal making several key saves and giving Lincoln an opportunity to win. Also turning in strong efforts for Lincoln (4-8-2 overall) were Tanina Cook, Tia Redden and Leslie Jefferson. It was the second year in a row that Lincoln and Trinity played to a tie. Lincoln will have three more opportunities to establish a program record for wins in a season. The Lady Lions have scored 30 goals this season, a new program standard.
The Lady Lions return to action Thursday afternoon when it hosts Valley Forge Christian College beginning at 2:30 p.m.
